Jimmy Lee Nelson

Jimmy Lee Nelson, age 75, of Valrico, Florida went to be with God and his loving wife on Monday, January 16, 2023. Jimmy was a loving husband and devoted to his family and his 3 children .Jimmy was born in Brush, Colorado on September 9th, 1947.

Jimmy married the love of his life on July 10th, 1971.

Jimmy's dad was an accomplished carpenter and using the skills he learned from him and increasing his own knowledge built his own home, after which he retired to from General Telephone Company. Jimmy was also a member of I.B.E.W.

His hobbies included trains and building models. Jimmy modeled his favorite rail line of Florida East Coast Railway. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and taking photos of his experiences. He also enjoyed gardening during his retirement and loving and supporting his family in any way he was able.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Robert LaVernon Nelson and Shirley Marie Nelson and his wife of 47 years Linda Rose Nelson.

Jimmy is survived by 2 sons Joel Nelson, Adam Nelson 1 daughter Rebecca Garrett, 1 brother Kevin Nelson, 5 grandchildren Sean Nelson, Rylee Nelson, Andora McCollum, Jesse Garrett, Kayla Herrygers and 2 great grandchildren Winter Rose McCollum and Skye Wren McCollum

A funeral service for Jimmy will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
