Johnny was born on 06/06/1951 in North Carolina to Belton and Maggie Strickland. Years after graduating high school, he went on to obtain a Ministerial Degree and Doctorate of Theology at Southern University.
After college he spent nearly 30 years in full-time ministry. In his early years of ministry he traveled with Evangelist R.W. Schambach and spent 3 years as Senior Pastor of Bartow First Baptist Church. He spent most of his career in ministry as Senior Pastor of Crystal Springs Worship Center and as CEO of Network of Promise Disaster Relief. He remained semi-retired working with The Refuge Biker Church and Honorbound Motorcycle Ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Dora, daughter Stacy, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
