She was born June 7, 1937 in Blackrock, AR, to Wiley William and Naomi Hager Webb. She grew up in Walnut Ridge, AR, where she married her high school sweetheart, Fredwin Mitchell Odom – a union that lasted sixty years.
June dedicated her life to her family and friends. She was steadfast in supporting her husband over his 30-year career in the U.S. Army that included duty throughout the United States, two tours in Thailand, Germany, and two combat tours in Vietnam. The inseparable Fred and June retired to Pensacola, FL, where she was actively involved in neighborhood social activities.
June’s family and friends will remember her as the perfect host whose talents as a decorator and gourmet cook were surpassed only by her genuine affection for all who entered her home. She loved cooking, crafts, dogs, and a good dry martini – but, nothing more than the time spent with family and friends. She spent her final years among many friends at the Twin Creeks Assisted Living Facility in Tampa, where she continued to be the life of the party until her last day.
A loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she is survived by her son, William O. Odom and his wife Aubrey of Norfolk, VA; daughter, Joy Odom Boisselle and her husband James of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Michael Odom and his spouse Sarah, Erik Odom, Jennifer Boisselle, Daniel Boisselle and his spouse Sam Munoz, Willa Odom, Soren Odom; and former daughter-in-law Jonnell Varley Odom.
A memorial service will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to any organization dedicated to the care of animals. ¬¬¬¬¬¬
