

Kenneth Noel Matos, age 54, known to many as Kenny, was reunited with his mother Nelida (Nellie) Matos on Sunday, March 10th, in Temple Terrace. He was born on October 27th, 1969 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Kenny was a devoted husband to Robin (Roberta Baker) Matos for 29 years. He was a loving father to Ashlee Noelle Matos, and a cherished grandfather to Anthony Riley Pledger and Camri Nelida Stone. He is survived by his father Luis A. Matos; brothers Nicholas (Paula) Matos; Louis "Butch" (Vanessa) Matos; and Michael (Melissa) Matos; as well as 16 beloved nephews, nieces great nephews and great nieces. He also leaves behind many friends, neighbors, and colleagues-all of whom all held their own special place in his heart.
Kenny had a successful career in fire protection for over 35 years. He harbored a dream of owning his own company, a vision realized in 2004 when he established First Defense Fire Protection Incorporated. He later joined Polaris Fire Protection as their Tampa superintendent heading their expansion in the Tampa Bay area. Kenny's commitment to fire protection was unwavering throughout his career.
Outside of work Kenny enjoyed listening and singing along to music, camping in the woods, going to the beach, riding his Harley and grilling with family and friends. He had a natural talent for comedy and commentating, and effortlessly made everyone around him
laugh. He was a man of integrity known for his charm, honesty, and willingness to help others in need. Kenny was a member of Saint Mark's Catholic Church in Miami where he restablished his relationship with God almighty.
Kenny's life will be celebrated on April 6th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Uncle Fat’s in Temple Terrace. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made towards raffle items which reflect Kenny's points of view on life, including a few of his favorite things.
Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon, Florida is assisting with the arrangements for Kenny's service.
