There are many words that would describe Lee.  However, for me, admiration, fun loving and love describe how I felt around Lee. 
Lee came into my life when I was very young and at a time when a boy learns to become a man.  From the moment he walked into our lives he did not falter.  Immediately Lee embraced Lynne, Brian and I.  So much so, he suggested taking us on their honeymoon.
Throughout the years, Lee was a constant in my life.  He was the person I continually could call on for anything--from advice to a goodtime.
I have learned so much from Lee.  One of the things Lee taught me was to love and appreciate sports.  He was the one who taught me how to hustle and perseverance.  For hours Lee would have me play goalie then continuously beam me with hockey pucks.  By the time we were finished playing, the garage and I were covered in marks.
Another sport we enjoyed watching was NASCAR.  At least once a year, Lee, Mark, Brian and I would go to the races in Daytona. On this one particular trip, we invited our favorite bartender, Heath.  This time we had awesome seats as we watched the cars fly by at 200 mph.  Heath turned to Lee and said, "I'm not too sure about this.  We are awfully close."  Lee assured him that it was perfectly safe.  Moments later, a hood came flying off Robbie Gordan's car and hit Lee square in his head as he was leaning over to take a bite of his burger.  What does Lee do?  He sat up, beer in hand, and asked, "What the heck was that?"  Brian replied, "Robbie Gordan's hood!"  Lee looked over at Brian and said, "Son, I didn't even lose my beer.  Now that's tough!"  Brian asked, "Oh, yeah, how about your hamburger?"  We never found that burger.
What is your favorite day of the week?  Mine is Sunday, football Sunday.  Sunday after Sunday, Lee and I would swelter on those aluminum bleachers in 100 degree weather.  We would watch our cream sickle Bucs lose season after season.  However, it never mattered to me that the Bucs were losing because I had the best seats in the house, next to Lee.
As the years went by, Lee continued to teach how to love sports but this time it was to my wife.  Michele was new to Brandon and did not know anyone.  As I went off to play darts, he took her under his wing and introduced and taught her how to love hockey.  I don't know id he knew how much I appreciate him loving her like a daughter.
Now that I am a husband and a father, I would like to say thank you, Lee.  Thank you for always treating my mother like a queen.  Thank you for always including me and my family in everything.  Thank you for teaching me to live life to the fullest.  Finally, thank you for loving me.

Now 62 years later he is retired and living in Ruskin, Florida with his wife, daughter and grandson.  He spends his days working as a trustee for the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  Regaling his friends with the interesting stories of his life.  My grandfather was lucky enough to be able to fully experience this miracle we call life, never wasting a day wishing for something to happen, instead he went out and made something happen and made something of himself.  I think this is a lesson we can all take to heart, go and make something happen in your life because no one is going to do it for you.  I know that I want to be able to smile and laugh at the memories and be proud of the life I have made.  Just like my grandfather, I want to live an interesting life and have people tell stories about me and cherish them.  Hopefully, when I am old and gray, my grandson will want to write about the memoirs of an old man.

A life well-lived is a life that was full of love - and I know that Lee's most certainly was. Barbara & family - my most heartfelt condolences to you in what I know is such a sad and tender time. I will always remember the way we were, young, happy and carefree.  Our biggest worries were when the bathroom would be free and being home by curfew.  Christmas morning, tobogganing at Allan's Hill, summers on Lac Gagnon, trying to keep up with you at Mac High (you were a legend) , watching you play hockey, win trophies and so many fun nights at the "Bar Disco " with you and Frank. You brought joy and laughter to so many, children loved you because you loved all children.  I am so grateful you are my brother.

When I miss him and I am lost, I will remember his chuckle, by far the most contagious laugh.  

When I see his favorite hockey team,  I will see his face, And remember him yelling at the games. 

When I see the Canadian flag, I will hear him speaking french. 

When I eat crab legs, I will see him spitting his shells across the table.

When I celebrate a birthday, I will hear him singing louder than anyone else. 

When I visit the beach, I will see us floating in the gulf and squeezing his nose.

When I go camping, I will see the picture of him with the caribo in the artic. 

When I see ice skates I will remember my performances, And hear him yelling Outstanding!

When it gets cold, I will remember the blizzard we drove through to get to our cabin with no heat.

When I see my wonderful grandmom, I will hear him calling her Babilicious! 

And when my kids have their own babies, I will remember what An amazing grandparent he was to me, and I will do my best to make him proud. 

I will miss him all the time but I will see him and hear him. I will celebrate him by choosing joy because of how he lived his life, a happy, fun loving guy.  I will do what he taught me, I will chuckle, sing loud, love, yell, and of course...watch a lot of hockey.

How do you say goodbye to your best friend who has been your partner in crime since the seventies? You tell him to scout out the bars in Heaven so that when I join him we will not have to waste time. Once upon a time we were just two young guys. Completely opposite. We shared our deferences and grew. We grew old together , separated by many miles , but each phone call was like we never skipped a beat. We both had the power to cheer each other up - especially recounting our adventures. I will miss my old friend, but I am thankful for the times we had.
