To the Garcia Family, I wanted to say that Coach Lou will always be in my heart and memories forever. He was like a second father to me and I will never forget how he always encouraged me to not only be the best baseball player I could be but to be the best man I could be. He used to say when I did something wrong "Every time you think you hurt the ball club" which meant, play with your instincts and just have fun which is so true in baseball. He was an amazing man and Coach for so many players. He made a good baseball player great and a great baseball player the best. I will never forget him and will always remember the time he was the first one that jumped on me and knocked me down at home plate after hitting a home run to send us to the Pony League World Series. I will never forget that wonderful celebration with him and all my teammates. I was more happy for him then myself because I knew how much it meant to him as well. A memory I will never ever forget that I lived and cherish with him and my teammates. Lou was that Coach that made you want to win and be the best not only for yourself but for him. That is the ultimate of what a coach should be. To Mary, Tony and family my thoughts and prayers are with you. He will never be forgotten.

My condolences to the Garcia family. I knew Coach Garcia from when we were at Dowdell Jr. High. I also got to enjoy being with him and others at the summer program at Clair-Mel Elemetary. We all loved him dearly. Love you Coach Garcia, may the Lord wrap his arms around you as you make your transition to Heaven. We'll see you again one day!

I want to offer my condolences to the Garcia family.  We have lost one of the true great baseball coaches of the Tampa Bat Area.  I had the privilege to play for Coach Garcia at HCC and I had tremendous respect for him.  He had a positive influence on a lot of people's lives.

I was very fortunate to have Mr. Garcia as my 8th grade math teacher...I remember helping Mary @ the football games watch the boys while he coached...I was more fortunate to be able to call Lou my friend once I became an adult...I will miss him deeply.

My thoughts and prayers to Mary and the Garcia family. Wonderful memories of spending time together during our annual Christmas time visits. .Loved to hear the old stories and the laughter that brought us to happy tears! I know that Lou and my dad are in heaven talking about baseball and the love of the game. My love to all of you.

He was one of my first baseball memories.  As someone who grew up without a father around, he was the next best thing sometimes.  I had the honor of playing for him for 4 years at South Pal - 4 league titles, 2 City champs.  My heart and prayers go out to Mary, Lou, Billy and Tony and their families. Lou was my 8th grade math teacher at Dowdell the first year it opened.  My favorite teacher of all times.  Was blessed to stay in touch over the years.  He's with all the great baseball players now...still coaching.  Love to the family.

Coach Lou was my history teacher at Robinson and was a great baseball coach. After graduating from Robinson in 1969 I started coaching baseball and was blessed to be able to coach against one of probably the best baseball coaches to come out of Tampa. His sons were all great baseball players and Lou had a great influence in countless lives through his teaching and coach. Prayers to Lou's family from his many friends throughout the years.
