Maria Prudencia Talavera Chavez

With profound sadness, we are announcing the passing of our beloved Grandmother, Maria Prudencia Talavera on May 12th,2025. She was born on March 17th, 1925. She was the oldest of seven kids and daughter of the late Victoria Chavez and Teodoro Talavera.

She was a woman of great strength. She was the bread winner for her family because her husband Natanael Tarrillo became sick when her kids were young. She was her grandchildren’s care taker, when my mother made the decisions to come to the United States to give us a better life. She was a master of sewing, quilting, and needlepoint. When Maria wasn't working or spending time on her projects, she could be found in her room, reading her bible as she was a devoted Christian. She was an amazing cook and a stunning baker.

Maria is survived by her loving children, Magdalena tarrillo, Juan tarrillo , her grandchildren Estanislao De La Cruz, Augusto César De La Cruz , Marco Antonio Tarrillo , Sofia Violeta De La Cruz y Magdalena Sofia De La Cruz and her great grandchildren Jocelyn Isabelle Cheung-De La Cruz, Natanael Ira De La Cruz, Tristan Benjamin Liang-De La Cruz , Esperanza Magdalena Liang-De La Cruz

A visitation for Maria will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
