Mario Joseph DiPiazza 90, Died June 11. He resided in Lithia, Florida with his wife of 66 years. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He atteneded elementary school at PS 64. Junior high school at Berriman school 64. He received many education excellence awards and his name was added to the honor roll and bronze plaque in the main lobby of School 64 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated from John Adams High school, and later earned a bachelors & masters degrees from Brooklyn College where he played football. While attending college, he was a life guard at the Cypress pool. At John Adams, he later taught Physical Ed and was an assistant football coach and swimming team coach. He got his principal’s certificate from St. John’s University. He later became assistant principal at a junior high school in Fort Green, Brooklyn, NY. He was in the army stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas where he was a life guard at the officer’s club swimming pool. He and his army buddies (Gene Zanolini, Nick Condon, Vince Edwards) were cabana boys and provided high diving entertainment in various Miami beach resorts. Nick became a famous magician, and Vince a famous actor. He talked with them regularly until their passings. He was also a life guard during our summers, at Camp Allen, on Long Island where his son & daughter were campers. Mom and dad met at a party March 2nd, 195o. He is survived by his lovely wife, brother, daughter, son, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He loved world history, scrabble, Jeopardy, stained glass crafting, oil & water color painting, driving, swimming, and world travel. He was well read, possessed a mind like a steel trap and always an educator giving good advice. He loved all beaches. He always enjoyed telling stories and loved spending time with his family.
