Mary Catherine Hetzner

Mary Carrubba Hetzner, formerly of Shaler and long time member of St. Bonaventure Church in Glenshaw, passed peacefully in Tampa, Florida in the company of her husband and children on January 4th, 2016.

Mary was born in Sharpsburg, Pa., and lived in the Sharpsburg, Ohara and Shaler Township area until 1999. In 1951 she Married Paul J. Carrubba of Lawrenceville, Pa., and together they had four children. Her husband Paul passed away in 2000.

In 2005 Mary found happiness in a second marriage to Joseph Hetzner of Tampa, Florida and together they enjoyed 10 years of marriage.

Mary is survived by her husband Joseph E. Hetzner; her sister Paula Beck Wolfe; her brother David Beck; her daughters Catherine L. Carrubba (Jerry Synowiec), Sheryl A. Carrubba (Mark McClure), Mary A. Stefanick (Richard Stefanick); her son Paul D. Carrubba (Bettyann Carrubba); her stepson Mark S. Hetzner; and nine grandchildren. A small service is being held for her in Tampa and a larger celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date in Pittsburgh.

Mary enjoyed traveling, painting and was very active in her community and church functions. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to either:
