Mary Lynn Smith

December 10, 1959 - August 11, 2025

With deep sorrow and profound hope in Christ, we announce the passing of Mary Lynn Smith who entered into the arms of her Savior on Monday, August 11, at the age of 65.

Born in Tampa, Florida and raised in Brandon, Florida where her family founded the city, Mary was born to Michael Jordan Brandon and Mary Virginia Brandon.

She loved her family and friends dearly. Mary was the life of the party, and she would host all of the family events. She enjoyed her time working at the Plant City newspaper, raising cockatiels, and being a stay-at-home mom. She gave her life to Jesus in 2008 and was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Randy E. Smith of 42 years; mother Virginia Brandon; children Brandon Smith (Shelly) and Heather Lamb (Nathaniel); grandchildren Landon, Jordan, and Joshua Smith and Logan, Lillian, Lovelyn, and Leland Lamb; siblings Michael Brandon (Lisa), Debbie Seeley, Michelle Owens, and Marla Gebeault (Jeff); and a multitude of cousins, nephews, and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father Michael J. Brandon and sister Ellen Brandon.

Though we grieve her absence, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life through Christ. Her legacy of love and family will live on in our hearts until we meet again in glory.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church located at 3539 Trapnell Rd, Plant City, FL 33566. Reverend Brandon Smith will officiate. Visitation will be at 11:00 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm. There will be a meal for the family after the service. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Family Cemetery following the meal.
