Mary B. Van Vliet

VAN VLIET, Mary B., 58, of Riverview passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011. She was born on August 6, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Arthur H. and Vincenza Durante Brittain. Survivors include her sons, Christopher Van Vliet (LeeAnn) and Michael Van Vliet (Sara); daughters, Laura Freeman (Tony) and Michelle Van Vliet; brothers, Arthur J. Brittain (Jennie), John Brittain (Marilyn), Matthew Brittain and Drew Brittain (Miriam); sisters, Patricia Brittain, Carol Brittain-Cutaia (Jeannene) and Irene Grisso (Timothy); and her cherished grandchildren, Brian Van Vliet, Lainey Van Vliet, Jason Freeman, Tyler Freeman, Sander Van Vliet and Adyson Van Vliet. Mary was also survived by several nieces and nephews: Jamie Brittain, Andrew Brittain, Brian Brittain, Erica Brittain, Drew Cutaia, Jeremy Grisso, Vincent Brittain & Isabella Brittain.

Mary loved her children and her grandchildren with all of her heart. She cherished her memories and loved playing on Facebook. She enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts and liked puzzles and crossword puzzles. She loved to host all of the family holiday gatherings, making dinners and desserts from scratch. Mary was a former business owner and office manager, but her children were her life’s work. Mary was one of 8 children, a loving daughter and a wonderful sister. Her life touched so many lives. Mary will be deeply missed and forever loved. She will live on through those she loved and those who love her, for eternity.
