

Mazie Opal Johnson, 86, of Brandon went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited for all eternity with her husband, Clarence, on August 6, 2010.Opal was a "Rosie the Riveter" and worked as a welder in the shipyard while her husband was serving in WWII. She later went on to work and retired from Continental Can Company. Throughout her life she was known for her quick wit, her outspokenness, her great Southern cooking and her total unconditional love for her entire family. She is predeceased by her husband, Clarence, her brother, Waymon Seber and his wife Lois., her sister Ruth Williams and husband Mack. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Karen and Nelson Guggino, who she told often "you're the light of my life". Two granddaughters, Jennifer and Kara Guggino, who stole her heart from day 1; nieces Teresa, Alana and Venita and nephews Jerry and Butch; and many great and great great nieces and nephews. Mom, I miss you already. Think of me when you and Dad are watching all those baseball games "Front Row". You taught me well and I'll always make you proud. Nanny, we Love You Much! Jennifer and Kara. Funeral service will take place 10 AM, Tuesday, August 10, 2010, in the Chapel of Stowers Funeral Home, Brandon, FL. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home.
