Paul was born in Chicago in 1942 at 26 weeks of pregnancy weighing 25 ounces. He was the smallest baby born at that time. He kept that record for many years. In 1960 he began his career as a coin-op technician with Apex Amusement in Chicago. He went on to own and operate a very successful jukebox and pinball business.
In 2007 Paul relocated to Riverview, FL to marry his teenage sweetheart Linda Landon. After 17 years of marriage, he passed away with Linda by his side on March 17th. Paul knew every jukebox that was made during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. During his years in Florida, he continued to work at servicing collectible jukeboxes. Many customers depended on him to keep the music playing. His expertise will be sadly missed as he was one of the last people who possessed the knowledge to care for these treasured jukeboxes.
Paul’s life, while in Florida, was filled with love and happiness. Trips to local theme parks, nearby beaches, museums, school events and graduations, kid’s sporting events and endless birthdays and holidays. Paul was proud of all nine grandchildren and was blessed to be present at the birth of the youngest three.
Paul had a love of dogs all through his life and dogs loved him. He raised and cared for nine dogs during his years in Florida. Peggy Sue, a shitzu, was his constant companion for the last 16 years. Evenings watching tv, dogs competed for space on his lap. Paul often loved to cook, creating new dishes and searching online for new recipes. He enjoyed Sunday trips to flea markets, enjoying food, music and searching for antiques. Paul and Linda traveled around the country visiting children and grandchildren. He enjoyed boating on Lake Lanier, tubing in Georgia, visiting children in California and attending graduations and weddings. In 2009 after surviving Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, he went on to experience good health for 15 years. He passed away from Pancreatic Cancer surrounded by his loving family. He will be missed by all of us forever.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda Landon, the children Lisa Landon Grant (Wyatt) Ben and Olivia; Jodi Landon Skeggs (Douglas) Ian and Noah; Mark Landon (Barbara) Mitchell, Athena and Ava; Rodd Landon (Laura Campodonico) Cooper and Kody. Paul lost his brother Theodore Friedman (Christy) in 2008. Also survived by his nephews Andrew and Michael Friedman (Lucy).
