Pastor Israel Torres was such a blessing to my our family but especially my father Roberto Velazquez who passed away in 2009. I am saddened to hear of Pastor Torres passing (especially almost a year later) but I know he is with our father in heaven. May God continue to comfort the Torres family.

Israel brought  my family so much laughter. Angel and I also the kids were so blessed to have known this wonderful man of God.

My childhood best friend. Izzy was intrumental in bringing me to Christ and delivery from a life of heroin addiction. I am eternally greatfull for his influence on my life. I pray that God's grace and favor will be with Maria and family at this difficult time.RIP Izzy. I have no doubt The Lord welcomed you with open arms. Lots of love to family....Emilio

No matter how much time and place has separated us from Israel, Maria, Israel and Melody, they are like family to us and hold a very special place in our hearts. Israel Torres was a good friend, and a mentor to us.  How we enjoyed hearing him tell stories of his youth.  We could sit and listen to him all night. His personality was unique, he was funny and he was caring. When Chino needed a job he was there to help him find one. He introduced us to Bethel Temple and talked Chino into joining the choir.  God send him to us, while we were new in the area and that started a friendship that has lasted years and a lasting relationship with our Lord. Israel's main goal was to save souls for the Lord.  He spoke to almost everyone about God in his kind and humorous way.  One couldn't help but listen to his knowledge about the bible and how he came to know the Lord. What a wonderful friend! When chino learned of his death his reply was "He's my only friend and now he's gone". He even talked us into getting a poodle puppy.  He told us "You watch, this puppy is going to be a blessing to you" and sure enough after 16 years Misty is still with us and yes, she has been a blessing thanks to Israel he sure knew what he was talking about.  One can tell he was a man of God by his actions, his kindness and his love for God and others.  We are proud and blessed to have had him in our lives and we are looking forward to seeing him again one day.  Chino said last night, " I can just hear Israel saying "Man Chino, you should see this place, it' incredible wait until you get here you are going to love it. It's awesome .praise the Lord!!!" Yes, Israel thanks for paving the way for us.  We will see you there. We love you friend!

Pastor Israel was a good friend and brother in the Lord to me ever since we first met a Bethel Temple in Tampa. I was also blessed to work together in the ministry! I was also privileged to even rent his church on 26th for a couple of years, until the Lord open the doors for us to purchase our own church back in 2005 !  Pastor Israel will always hold a special place in my heart and we will continue to pray for Maria and his family for God's comfort and peace. Our Love go out to them!

Uncle Israel was many things to many different people and above all what we need to know today is that he's in now a place of radiance beyond the brightness of earth/ in a place of colors beyond earthly colors, in a state where he can see us and be with us especially when we pray.

Tio is now waiting for that day when we can join him waiting with that big strong softness with his easy way in that light  and it is in that light that we'll see him again.

The next time we encounter Tio he will be in the place of luminosity, beyond this valley of rain and tears where realities unfold unto eternities.

Pastor Israel Torres aka Tio Izzy -- was known to many different people in many different ways. But to everyone he was known as having that goodness by which he completed his mission, his mission in life, which was to touch those he was meant to touch, help those he was meant to help, love where love was needed.
