Robert David Baker

Bobby was born on December 2, 1951 to James David Baker and Ruby Carolyn Rogers in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He was the oldest of 3 boys. He was an excellent student, and athlete. After graduating from Wallace Rosehill High School in North Carolina in 1970, he moved to Florida and went on to study at University Of South Florida.

Bobby was raised in large part by his grandparents who taught him many life skills, and helped him to develop strong character, and to be loyal and a hard worker.

In 1973, he met and fell in love with his neighbor Teresa Alderman, in Thonotosassa, Fl and they wed in 1975, going on to have three children, Mary Ann, Kimberly and Tiffany. He was a dedicated father, and provider.

Bobby pursued multiple careers to provide for his family. Some of which include a Truck Driver, a longtime employee of Lykes Brothers, in meat processing, and a longtime employee of Hartshorn Custom Contracting, as the shop foreman. He had a strong work ethic and taught that to his children as well. In his spare time, he was a volunteer firefighter. He would boast that he helped to put out 183 fires in his firefighting career.

Bobby spent his down time taking care of his home and yard, which he was very proud of. He also loved his grandchildren very much. On any given occasion, you could find him tinkering with crafts in the garage often with a grandchild by his side, as the grandchildren would lovingly joke,” 5 minute crafts with Papa.” He had a passion for music and was a talented pianist, and thoroughly enjoyed sharing this with his grandchildren.

Bobby was predeceased by James Henry Baker (Grandfather), Annie Bruton (Grandmother), James David Baker (Father), Ruby Carolyn Rogers (Mother), JC Heyers (Step-Father), Keith Baker (Brother), and unborn grandchildren who were deeply hoped for and already loved. He is survived by his Wife Teresa Baker; his Daughters Mary Ann Brown (Charlie), Kimberly Ann Caito (Chris), Tiffany Caroline Baker (Eric); his Grandchildren Kali Caito, Aubrey Caito, Harper Caito, Hudson Caito, Alissa Kuhns and Amayra Kuhns; his siblings Eugene Baker and Kimberly Diane Baker.
