TORRES, Rudolph “Rudy”, 84, of Tampa passed away October 23, 2011. He was a native and lifelong Tampa resident. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and Vietnam, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Rudy was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Ralph Torres. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rudy Torres Jr. and Desiree of Tampa; three grandchildren, Kristi, Cody and Sara; great-granddaughter, Olivia; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2011 with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2011 at Stowers Funeral Home. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans- Chapter 4, 2612 N. Tampa Street, Tampa, FL 33602.
