A Veteran of the U.S. Army, Sal is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; son, Salvatore Jr.; daughter, Christine (Greg); three grandchildren, Katherine, Allison, and Nicholas; two sisters, Santa and Angelina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Affectionately known as Crazy Old Man, Sal was a joy to be around – always ready with a joke, a funny face, or a dramatic pose. He would talk with anyone and was always willing to lend a hand – always only a phone call away. A lover of food (especially homemade Italian cuisine), he would eat until he burst, and then ask if you wanted to go for ice cream. He was passionate about his favorite sports teams – the Tampa Bay Bucs, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Tampa Bay Rays – as well as bald eagles, M&Ms, and the U.S. Military. Sal was his family’s strength and comfort, and he will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the charity of your choice. Please feel free to share any fun or meaningful stories you had with Sal. We know there are many.
