Kay was of the Catholic faith. She graduated from Melbourne High School in 1969. Kay then moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida. She retired from Verizon after 35 years of service. A loving mother and grandmother she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and taking trips to West Virginia.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Dawn Florez, Lisakay Riddles and husband Richard; grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb, Amber, Joshua, Rose; brother, John Hurt; sisters, Susie Tipton and husband Andy, Sally Nielsen and husband Skip.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Melech Hospice House Chapel.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice in Kay's memory.
