Teresa Fraser was born on December 6, 1930, in the former country of British Guiana (now Guyana). Her birth was in the capital city and chief port of BG, Georgetown, in the County of Demerara. Her family and friends remember her as a matriarch of a gifted and caring family. She was very proud of becoming a U. S. citizen in October of 1977. She loved going to the beach and especially delighted in the daily round of sunrises and sunsets. One of her great gifts to herself and the family was having a time-share called Hideaway Sands on the FL west coast. It was the scene of many family gatherings and special memories during the annual vacation in August as well as other times of the year.
She was very happy to be a volunteer with her church and really enjoyed her time and service to the People of God via the Nativity Pastoral Care Team, the Women's Guild and its St. Francis Circle. This included serving as a minister of the Eucharist visiting the sick and homebound of the Nativity/Brandon community. In this role, she was also an active member of the Eucharistic Apostles of Divine Mercy. Her love of music lead to all four of her children getting involved with their local marching band. And it won't be a surprise that she sang in the Nativity Choral Group for at least eleven years. She was also an engaged member of the Nativity Prayer Group along with the latter's Good Friday live version of the Stations of the Cross. For two years of these Stations, she was overjoyed to be "Mary, Mother of God" to her son, Brian, who was the Christus two years in a row. One other thing that she took very seriously was one of the spiritual works of mercy, praying for the living and the dead. She especially remembered the dead and kept a list of the many deceased family members and friends that she lifted to our Lord daily. She was an ardent watcher and supporter of Mother Angelica and EWTN (the Eternal Word Television Network). As you can see, she was very active in her beloved parish of Nativity Catholic Church.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for Western Union, Walker Memorial Hospital, Lake Byrd Admin Office of the United Church of Christ, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and as a nutrition counselor for Weight Watchers.
Fond memories, photos, expressions of sympathy, and other good stuff may be shared with the family at TERESA FRASER Obituary - Brandon, FL
