Thomas "T.C." Scales

T.C is survived by his; wife, Joani; children, Tom Scales, Lena Arango and Charlie Scales; siblings, Faye Gibson, Russell Scales, Mary Gardner and Nancy Farmer}. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lenna Mae Scales and sister Estella Parsons.

T.C. graduated from Friona High School in 1961 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, he met the love of his life, Joani, and the two were married in 1965 after his discharge from the Navy.

T.C. spent 45 years working as a commercial aircraft mechanic, building a long and dedicated career with National Airlines, Pan Am, and World Airways. When he wasn’t working on airplanes, he could usually be found at his farm in Balm, Florida, caring for his cows. T.C.’s greatest joys in life were his family and his farm.

Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, on March 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on March 18, 2026, at 12:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511 on March 18, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate T.C.’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sun City Center Hospice House at Hospice Sun City House.
