

SMULLEN, Thomas James “Tom”, 60, of Valrico, Fla., passed away September 10, 2011. A 1969 graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Penn., Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Specialist. He served in Korea and in various posts within the United States, including training with the Secret Service. Tom actively supported E.O.D. Units stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, to whom he faithfully sent care packages. Tom worked with computers and with hazardous materials before moving to the area in 1997 where he was employed at Brandon Business Machines as a Logistics Manager. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Ed Smullen. He is survived by his mother, Marcella Smullen of Valrico, Fla.; brother David Smullen and wife Judith of Bethlehem, Penn., and extended family and numerous friends.
