Tyler Michael Scott, age 26, lost his longtime battle with mental health issues and drug addiction on Friday, January 28, 2022. Born as Shelby Michaela Knight in 1995, she transitioned to Tyler in 2014.
Tyler was a gentle soul with a kind heart. He enjoyed taking pictures, especially of the downtown Tampa area and the historic areas of Ybor City and Plant City. As a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida, he was an avid fan of the Bucs, Lightning and Rays – and loved going to games with his Papa. He was happiest when spending time on the water or playing with his baby “nephew” AJ.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Lisa (Jason) Browder, grandparents Marie Weicht and Evelio & Phyllis Gonzalez, half-brother Clayton (Laurin) Patton, nephew Waylon Patton, stepsister Jordan Browder, aunt Tina Powers, his beloved cousin Tiana Mathis (Alex Wimmer) and their son AJ (whom Tyler absolutely adored), uncle Pete (Teresa) Weicht, and cousins Jake Weicht and Cody Weicht.
On his father’s side Tyler is survived by his father Michael Knight, grandparents Robert & Phyllis Knight, half-sisters Gabrielle Knight and Alissa Ziegler, aunt Debbie (Wayne) Colvin, cousins Dallas Colvin and Cassie Colvin, and her daughter Tatum.
Services will be held on February 6th from 1 – 2 pm at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens in Brandon, Florida. Whether you knew and loved Tyler or Shelby, you are welcome to join us in saying goodbye. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HillsboroMemorial.com.
