William Leitner

Leitner, William, 102, passed away at home in Brandon on Saturday, May 27, 2017. He was a retired Foreman from the American Can Company and a longtime resident of Brandon. After his retirement, he devoted his time to his family, and his businesses on the former Whataburger building and the adjacent properties until starting to slow down at the age of 98. William was a member of the Brandon Shrine Club and the Brandon Lodge # 114 of Free and Accepted Masons where he was a Past Master and was instrumental in its construction. William was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Pearl Leitner, and is survived by his daughter, Alice Leitner Pack, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11am with family to accept friends one hour prior to the service at Stowers Funeral Home, Brandon. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Brandon Lodge # 114 at (813) 689-4221 in his name.
