Peacefully on Saturday, January 12th, 2013 at Brierwood Gardens Seniors' Community, in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Olive (2001). Loving father of Lorne (Lois) Pamela (Geoff) Tyers. Will be missed by his grandchildren Leanne (Stephen Near), Lindsay, Allan White, Geoffrey (Heather)Tyers , Sarah & Jennifer Tyers and great-granddaughter Rebecca Near. Also survived by sister Olive (George) Pulham. Predeceased by his brother Herbert (2007) and his wife Joan (2012). Allan was a long time member of Central Baptist Church. He also was a partner/operator of the White Bakery Limited for over 50 years. The family will receive friends at the "THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL", 96 West Street (today) Monday January 14th, 2013 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 from 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. A Reception will be held in the THORPE BROTHERS' CARRIAGE HOUSE, following the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Central Baptist Church Memorial Fund or to the Parkinson Society of Canada would be appreciated.
