

LAVERY; Barbara Ethel Kischel (formerly Phillips): Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family at the Brantford General Hospital, on Saturday March 29th 2025 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Robert Lavery (1997). Loving mother of Arthur (Vicky) Phillips, the late Leslie (1993) (Karen) Phillips, and Elaine (Randy) Oakes. Cherished granny of Courtney, Peter, Artie, Patrick (Stephanie), Crystal (Sean), Amanda, and Sean. Treasured G.G. of Kayden, Blake, Brooklyn, Hannah, Kyle, Jacob, and Campbell. Dear sister of Delbert (1994) Kischel, Edith (Ron) Ladd, and predeceased by an infant sister Joyce (1931). Barb will also be lovingly missed by the Lavery family. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, creativity, and kindness. Known for her vibrant spirit, she had a passion for artwork, sewing, crafting, and gardening, where she found solace and inspiration. She selflessly dedicated her time, volunteering to maintain the gardens at the Stedman Community Hospice, keeping them beautiful for all to enjoy. She was a member of the Dunsdon Legion, and a proud member of the Ladies Auxilliary for more than 25 years. One of her greatest life accomplishments was the opportunity to carry the Olympic Torch for the 2010 Olympic Games. Her wonderful sense of humour made her the comic relief at family gatherings. A true social butterfly, she delighted in dancing and bringing happiness to everyone around her. Barb will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Friends will be received at Thorpe Bros. Funeral Home, on Friday April 4th 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the chapel service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Oakhill Cemetery, Brantford at a later time. If desired, donations in memory of Barb made to the Stedman Community Hospice would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
