To my friend Brad and all his loved ones

I was absolutely gutted to hear of Brad’s passing.
My first thoughts were for Bri and Ethan. They’ve lost their father, the man who loved and supported them unconditionally. Every time we got together, Brad would update me on how his kids were doing and how proud he was of them. His world clearly revolved around them, and I always admired how openly he cared for his family.

I crossed paths with Brad almost 20 years ago when I was new to packaging sales. I walked into an office I didn’t know and he was sitting there working. He took pity on the new guy, gave me a chance to quote, and luckily we were a good fit. That turned into many years of business and a real friendship.

Brad was always looking out for others. When my wife went through a tough season, I told him about it and he listened. That same week he thoughtfully sent her a beautiful arrangement of flowers. It meant so much & she’s never forgotten it. (Of course he later rubbed it in that he’d raised the bar and she now loved him more than me 😂).

Some of my fondest memories are the annual Lockwood Christmas parties. Brad pulled out all the stops and made everyone feel like family. It’s where I played my first progressive euchre tournament and earned my first “Doohicky” (IYKYK). I’ll never forget the time he ruined the stuffing with too much sage (and we all ate it anyway)

In June this year I was driving two hours to Brantford for a meeting when, out of the blue, Brad texted that he’d had a funny dream about my wife and me and figured it was his subconscious telling him to reach out. Our last message had been the previous December. The timing felt impossible. I know now that this wasn’t just a coincidence. It was the last time I saw him. 
Brad, I will miss you, my friend. Until we meet again. ❤️

I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Brad's sudden passing. I had gotten to know Brad over the past 6 or so years, and quickly learned of his kindness and generosity, as well as his sense of humour! His love for his children was very apparent to me in the way he treated them and always spoke about them - I have no doubt that he was an amazing father.

My deepest condolences to the family, and especially to Brianna and Ethan. Thinking of you all.

Brad, we will miss you. Heaven shines a little brighter now. ❤️

I was deeply saddened to hear of Brad’s passing. He was always such a kind and funny presence when we crossed paths in recent years. Sending my deepest love and comfort to Bri and Ethan and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time.

My brother, my advasary, my friend.
From a young age you used to love to bug me until I reacted. Even as an adult we would debate our differing views on politics. Now I would give anything to just  to hear your voice again.
As you move on into the next life I want you to know that Liz and I will continue to look out for Brianna and Ethan. I know that was your biggest concern.
You were the best brother, son and father that I ever knew. Not a day will go by where I won't miss you.
I never said it while you were here so I'll say it now.
I love you Brad, I hope you always know that.

In such short time you became more than a colleague and lovely friend. I greatly value your mentorship professionally and personally. There was so much more to teach and learn, but I promise to hold everything down with the tenacity, integrity and kindness you encouraged. I’m grateful to know and have you in my life. The lessons and stories you shared will have a lasting influence.

I’ll miss the laughter, car rides to our lunch dates,  and your ability to squeeze in a relevant Judge Judy reference no matter the topic. Most of all, I’ll miss talking to you - especially at the start of our day, listening for Monday’s “good morning” versus Friday’s. The mornings won’t ever be the same. 

Thank you for being the incredible person you are, for accepting me as I am, and making this life lighter and brighter.

I miss you Brad. Lunch on me when I get up there, OK? 💜

I will always have found memories of life in Ancaster, sharing cottage times with  you,and bringing our children into  world. You always had quite a zest for life! Always offering a helping hand,with heartfelt sincerity. 
-the world will miss that.

Always showed great pride in both of you. Always put you first. Always looking over your shoulder to make sure….Please know your father’s legacy will live on through all of us. He was dearly loved by everyone that he took under his wing as you know. 
There’s a little bit of him in all of the family surrounding you both…collectively we will always be looking over your shoulder to make sure….

Brad, I hope you’re making people laugh up in those clouds, and finding a Taco Bell open at 1:00 AM.

My heart is absolutely broken. 
Even though life and family circumstances sometimes took us in different directions you never let that change the relationship we had. You stayed the course and I will always be grateful for that. No matter what was happening around us , our bond remained and that meant more to me than you will ever know. 

You were a such big goofy guy with the biggest heart and we shared so many great times and laughs together. I will always smile when I think of you and the fun we had. You had a way of making people laugh and bringing your own special energy wherever you went.  

I feel so fortunate that I was able to be there for your daughter and take her under my wing I will always care very deeply for both Bri and Ethan. 

My heart is with Bri and Ethan during this unimaginable loss.  They were so loved by you and I hope as they go through this difficult time they always remember just how much their dad loved them and how important they were to him. 

I am going to miss you  , you will always hold a very special place in my heart and I will cherish the memories, the laughs, and the bond we shared. 
 Rest peacefully, my dear cousin.  You  will never be forgotten. ❤️

Your dad was a special father, brother and uncle.  There are no words to express the loss of him.  He will forever be in our thoughts and hearts.  There are so many memories that our family will cherish.  Please know, you both have a large family surrounding you to support the both of you.    Please take care.
