Charles Dale Ault

Survived by his cherished daughter Laurie (Kirk Dolbear), companion Anne Maguire, cousin Nancy, niece Steffni and her son Tristan, and his “little brother” Jamie Nudds. Predeceased by his parents Douglas M. and Florence (nee Jones), and brother Gerald B. (Anne), as well as his first wife Mary (nee Henophy 1962) and more recently Raymonde (nee Lebrun 1992). Dale was the last Ault born in Aultsville ON., in the original UEL home, flooded in 1958 to make way for the St. Lawrence Seaway, and was a member of the lost villages historical society. Dale volunteered in many areas such as Big Brothers, Brantford Minor Hockey, Brantford Red Sox, Red Cross, St. Pius X Parish, and the Aultsville volunteer Fire Dept. He was also involved with the Brantford Chamber of Commerce, and the Brantford Real Estate Association. Dale worked for 37 years in the newspaper industry, including 27 years with the local Brantford Expositor. He enjoyed many years of retirement, including many hours in his fishing boat on favourite lakes and rivers, skating, bowling, cycling, and golfing with friends. Visitation will be held at Thorpe Bros. Funeral Home, 96 West. St., Brantford, on Thursday February 12th 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service in the chapel, held at 12:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place, with interment at St. Lawrence Valley Union Cemetery in Ingleside in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dale may be made to the Brant SPCA.
