Conrad Viau

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Conrad Viau. Son of predeceased parents, Frank and Marie-Rose Viau. Dear brother of Norbert Viau, (Aldea) (pre-deceased), Raymond Viau, (Anita) (pre-deceased), Alice Benoit, (Paul-Émile) (pre-deceased), Florent Viau, (Ursule), Fernand Viau, (Lea) (pre-deceased) and Roland Viau (Suzanne). Loving husband of 61 years of Lucille Viau (Perreault). Cherished father of Bernard Viau (Suzanne), Gerald Viau (Dwayne), Robert Viau (Louise), Pauline Martel (Marc), Doris Giroux (Stephen), and Dianne Viau Boraski (pre-deceased). Loving grandfather to 12 proud grandchildren who adored him tremendously. Great grandfather to 8 great grandchildren who had the pleasure of spending quality time with him. His absence will sadly affect numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends. Conrad worked for over 32 years at Ford Motor Company. He was a very active member of Le Club Canadien Français as well as being a faithful volunteer for St Vincent de Paul. Conrad was also active in St Mary's church for a number of years. His love of music was pleasantly heard and shared from his fiddle every chance he could and also loved gardening. He always kept active but most times he was helping out anyone who was in need. Special thanks to all the health care workers in their field for all their dedication and care who have diligently helped make his suffering and pain more at ease. The family will receive friends at the Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel, 96 West St on Tuesday, June 20th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. A Christian Mass will take place at St. Mary’s Church at 133 Murray St. on Wednesday, June 21st, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Conrad can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Alternately, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
