Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the Brantford General Hospital at the age of 77. Beloved wife of Nigel Challen for over 43 years. Cherished mother of Nicole (Kacey) and Jocelyn. Proud grandmother of Sawyer. Dear sister of Peter, Jeanette (Syd), Elizabeth (Jose). Loved aunt of Aletta. Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Joan, and her niece Alicia. Denise will be dearly missed by her cat, Fika.
Denise loved to read, do her crosswords, knit, cook for her family, and spoil her grandson.
Visitation will be held at Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home (96 West Street, Brantford) on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place in the chapel on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Light refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brantford General Hospital or Stedman Community Hospice.
