Diane Judith Hawey

15 September, 194325 April, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Diane Judith Hawey announce her unexpected passing on April 25, 2021 at the age of 77.

Diane was born in Kitchener to Anne and Nicholas Kautesk. When Diane was a teen her Dad passed away and she was blessed with a wonderful step dad Robert Wells when her Mom remarried. Diane leaves a hole in the hearts of her husband of 57 years Ray, daughter Sandy, son David (Cathy) grandchildren Dan (Rosie), Tyler (Meggan), Connor and Cara. Beloved great-nan to Scarlet, Hadley and Dawson. Diane will be dearly missed by her sisters Donna (John), Linda (Calvin), Pat (Dave), Karen (Dennis), Wendy (Steve), Deb, and brother Robert (Terri); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Diane wore many hats over the years - teller, bookeeper, motel owner, art gallery picture framer etc. To each job she gave her best and made many friends. On retirement Diane enjoyed spending time with family, sister lunches, working in the garden, exercise class and walking her dog. Diane's kindness, compassion and gentle nature will be missed by so many. Her loyal companion Piper will miss her cuddle time on the couch. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11a.m, which will be livestreamed. In lieu of flowers, Diane requests donations to St Vincent de Paul Brantford where she volunteered for many years. Memories and condolences may be shared and the link for livestream may be found below.

Words can't express the sadness Lori and I feel at Diane's sudden passing and for her great family left behind. Diane was such a happy caring soul who's light shined bright wherever she went. It's been many years since we met, way back when the family first moved to Peterborough and we became friends with Dave. We have always been so impressed how Diane remembered our wedding anniversary and looked forward to receiving a wonderful Christmas card with her lovely personal message. Your great "sunrise photo" posts on Facebook will be missed too. With much love, we wish Ray, Dave , Sandy and extended family strength to move forward in this difficult time. Hold on to her light and it will continue to guide you ! Love, Conrad & Lori Toner

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
Those special memories of you will always bring a smile.
If only I could have you back for just a little while.
Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do.
You always meant so very much and always will do too.
The fact that you're no longer here will always cause me pain.
But you're forever in my heart until we meet again

What a wonderful soul Diane was. Her soft sweet voice was very calming and soothing. Every time I saw Diane and ray together- you could feel the love they had for each other. They were joking and teasing and she cared so much about him. I am so sad to hear of this news. I wish Ray peace and offer my condolences. Thinking of him and their family.
