
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Bryenton (nee Slade), at the age of 89. Eileen was born in Brantford on August 20th 1936, and passed away peacefully on February 12th 2026 at the Brantford General Hospital. She was predeceased by her loving Mother Georgina May Slade (nee Durant) her Father George Slade, and her beloved daughter Joy Lynn Bryenton whom she sadly lost in 2024. She is survived by her dear brother George (Audrey), and predeceased by her loving sister Ida (Alfred), and beloved brother William (Mildred). She will be fondly remembered by her surviving nieces and nephews, and their families, as well as, friends, and former coworkers. Eileen lived her lifetime in Brantford, ON where she spent the majority of her career preparing surgical packages for sterilization at the Brantford General Hospital. She was an extremely dedicated Mother who was committed to her daughter throughout her lifetime. Following retirement, Eileen spent much of her time living a quiet life at home while occasionally travelling together with her daughter to visit family, or to venture out to various vacation destinations. She will be remembered for her kind nature, awesome sense of humour, contagious laughter, and for being the cool Aunt.
A celebration of life will be held for Eileen on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026 at Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home & Chapel
96 West St, Brantford, ON N3T 3E7 at 11AM. A visitation will be held an hour prior at 10AM.
Eileen will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery, 169 Charing Cross St, Brantford, Ontario N3R 2J3. A special thank you to the staff at the Brantford General Hospital, and to the Riverview Terrace in Brantford for the care and friendship that they provided to Eileen during her final journey.
