Peacefully, at the John Noble Home, Bell Court, with her family at her side, on Monday, February 5, 2007, in her 76th year. Loving wife for 58 years to Peter J. McDonald. Devoted mother to Jim(Lynn), Jill(Rob), and Karen(Bob). Dear sister of Norma Muir(and the late Bob) and sister-in-law of John(and the late Amelia). Daughter of the late Vern and Rovena Cook and daughter-in-law of the late Peter and Elizabeth McDonald. Aunt to Karen and Rob, Pat and Janice. Special Auntie to Ashley. Eleanor was a long time member of St. Vincent de Paul and the Catholic Women’s League. Eleanor was a true lady and she will be sadly missed by the many wonderful friends she has made over the years. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West Street on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm with the CWL Rosary at 3 pm and Parish prayers at 8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace Street, on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 11 am followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
