Elisa Petrella

Beloved wife of the late Gaetano “Guy” Petrella (1999), Lizetta was a loving and dedicated mother to Marcel (Michele) and Anna (Joop Verheul), both of Brantford. She was the cherished grandmother of Mike (Gabi), Joe (Erin), Alex, and Erika. Lizetta is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Vincenza “Nancy” (the late Vitorio Di Cesare), many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Daughter of the late Francesco and Anna Maria Liberatore, Lizetta was predeceased by her dear siblings Giovanno (Cligeria), Atilio (Cesidia), and Nicole (Celesta) Liberatore. She was also predeceased by her siblings-in-law Maria and Lorenzo Lashko, Antonio and Erminia Petrella, Giovanna and Vitorio Pace, and Salvatore and Iolanda Petrella.

Lizetta was a devoted homemaker and embraced life’s simple pleasures – working in her vegetable garden, canning the harvest, baking pizzelle cookies, and crocheting. She loved shopping, never missed her weekly hair appointment, and was always singing. Above all she had a deep love for her family, who will carry her spirit with them always.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Brierwood Gardens for their compassionate and dedicated care of Lizetta.

Lizetta’s life will be celebrated privately. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 620 Governors Road East.
