Frank Marcella

It is with great sadness that the family of Frank Marcella announce his passing on Thursday December 15, 2016 at Amber Lea Retirement Home at the age of 96. Husband of the late Angela (nee- DeRosse). Loving father to Susan (Carm) Marteliera, Marianne, Dennis (Mary) Marcella and the late Nancy Haines. Cherished Papa to 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Brother of Mary Ferracioli (Louis) and brother in law to Mary Marcella (Alfred) and Carol Marcella (Albert). Predeceased by seven brothers and a sister. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Frank was a retired employee of Massey Ferguson retiring in 1982 with 37 years of service. Dad continued to work in his vegetable and flower gardens until the age of 87 when failing health dictated him to stop. He was a renowned euchre and cribbage player and made the rounds at card tournaments held in various Brantford service clubs where he chalked up many wins. Special thanks to the caring staff members at Amber Lea, especially Sue.

The family will receive friends at “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Sunday December 18th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Prayer Service in the chapel on Monday December 19th at 10:00 am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated.
