A proud Polish Canadian, Helena was a longtime member of the Polish Combatants' Association (SPK #4), Catholic Women’s League, and Kolo Polek. Known for her warmth, humour, and love of community, she was deeply loved by younger and older generations alike. She loved attending dances and special occasions at the Polish halls, where she was often found celebrating well into the night. One of her greatest joys was volunteering at the Polish hall, preparing countless pierogi and cabbage rolls for weddings and community events. Her hands shaped not only the dough, but the spirit of the gatherings—filling the room with laughter and the aroma of traditional meals made with love. Special thanks to the staff at JNH and Cockshutt Court and the many doctors and nurses who cared for Helena in her final years. The family will receive family and friends at the Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home, 96 West Street, Brantford, on Friday May 16th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., with parish prayers at 7:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Ave, Brantford, on Saturday May 17th, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Brantford.
