It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Jamie on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026, of Brantford, Ontario, in his 74th year. James was the beloved son of Thomas (deceased 2005) and Therese (deceased 2002) O’Neail, and dear brother of Kathryn (Ed) Davis, Eugene (Jody), Tari, Michael, Patricia (Mark) Oreskovich, Tom (Lisa), Tim (Christine), and Peggy (deceased 1972).
Cherished uncle of Bryan (Meredith), Trevor (Joann), Kevin (Erin), Casey (Hannah), Cori (Patrick), Mark (Tina), Dilan, Andrew, Meghan, Emily and Matthew. Great uncle of Colleen, Kathryn, Taylyn, Quinn, Brennan, Sloane, Lily, Emma, Tessa, Connor, and Annie.
Jamie was a lifelong employee of Carborundum Abrasives in Plattsville, Ontario. He enjoyed playing and watching sports of all kinds, a good Michener novel, and a strong-tasting beer. Holiday gatherings and time spent with family and friends, sharing a laugh and a drink was something he cherished. He will be dearly missed by his family and good friends.
Jamie’s greatest joy came from all the dogs in his life – especially Solstice and Bear. Long walks on community trails brought him peace, contentment, and profound happiness. If you had four legs and a tail, you held a special place in his heart.
Visitation will be held at Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home (96 West Street, Brantford) on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Service in the chapel at Thorpe Brothers will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris. Donations to the SPCA or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
