John C. Baran

Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday December 20, 2010 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of 60 years to Adele ( Pietrkiewicz ). Loving father of Helen (Raymond) Masters, John (Susan Nuttall) Baran, Chester (Kathy) Baran. Dear grandfather of Jeannine (Alex) Schuts, Christopher (Tracy) Masters, Linzi Baran, Tyler, Kyle and Stephanie Baran. Great-grandfather of Lofton, Morgan, Evyn and Jacob. Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Josephine and his sister Jean (Paul) Mitchell. Brother of Stella (Leo) Neziol, Mitchell (Kathryn) Baran and survived by many nieces and nephews. John was a well known builder and developer in Brantford for many years, a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and the Knights of Columbus Council 9262. John’s generosity and sense of humour will be missed by his family and many friends. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of the 7th floor and Palliative care of the Brantford General Hospital, Doctors Bannister, Carlton, Legere and MacNeil of Brantford and Dr. Wright of Hamilton.

The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Wednesday December 22nd from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. C.W.L. Rosary at 3:00 pm, Parish Rosary along with the Knights of Columbus at 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 235 Brant Avenue on Thursday December 23rd at 10:00 am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Church Renovation Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
