Johnny was one of a kind! Kind-hearted, hard-working, always ready to help, genuine, loyal, a straight-shooter. He'd give you his last dime if he knew you needed it. He loved Jesus with all his heart, and although he had his "vices", he always endeavoured to share the Gospel with those he encountered. He was forgiven much, and therefore he forgave much. I don't know that I've ever met another Christian who was so quick to forgive. I learned from him.
He loved to play his guitar in church and lead in worship. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his dog and his pick-up truck and his tobacco pipe. He loved his neighbours. He was such a generous man in every way.
To his wife, he was romantic, affectionate, thoughtful...a great listener, which is rare for husbands! LOL He was liberal with his "I love you's" and his sweet, loving notes, which he wrote frequently. He was also liberal with his "thank you's" and "I appreciate you's" and "I'm sorry". His sense of humour was wonderfully entertaining! He was truly my soul-mate; I never questioned his love and loyalty even one day of our married life. He was my very best friend on this earth. And I miss him more than words can say.
John was everyone's "buddy", whether at work or socially. He was fun and fun-loving. He was also a pack-rat! Anything given to him he treasured and kept.
His skills as a truck driver and as a dry-waller were above par. He was conscientious, and took pride in being a "craftsman" at his trades. He didn't have a lot of hobbies, but he did love to watch movies and spend time with family. And he also loved to barbeque. Mostly steak -- his favourite! He was not complicated. He used to say, "Barbequed steak and an evening with my wife...ah! That's living!"
So many miss him, because there's so much of him to miss!
