

Peacefully, after a long courageous battle, at Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 in his 83rd year, Phil, beloved husband of Nancy (Giancola). Loving father of Diane (Ross Stringer) of South Porcupine, Michael (Terry) of London, Timothy (Lorraine DiCicco) of London, Francine (Bill Wheaton) of Ancaster, Nancy Ann and Ann Marie (Alan Banting) of Brantford. Cherished grandfather of Paul, Sarah, Meaghan and Jennifer Stringer, Adam and Eric Morin, Noah Wheaton and Peter Banting. Survived by brother Lucien Morin of Ottawa. Predeceased by parents Philippe Morin and Irène Vigneault , brothers Gabriel, Charles, Albert and Émile and sisters Lucienne, Rhéa, Estelle, Juliette and Angèle. Phil will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Phil was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the Naval Forces of Canada in WWII as a Stoker 1st class. Phil retired to Brantford after 33 years as a salesman with Crothers Caterpillar in Timmins and Sault Ste. Marie. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West Street, Brantford on Friday, November 24, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray Street, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
