Joseph Sobolewski

February 17, 1945 – November 6, 2017

Surrounded by the love of his family in his 73rd year. Loving husband of Carole for 47 years. Adored father of Lisa (Tom), Kelly, Patrick (Ashley) and predeceased by his infant son Marty. Loving “Papa” and greatest fan to Audra, Blake, Rhea, Gage, Rory and Russell. Son of the late Adam and Margaret Sobolewski and loving brother to Emilia the late Virginia and the late Marlene. Joe was employed at Stelco Fasteners and Genfast for 32 years. “Uncle” Joe was loved by many. He loved his cottage life in Turkey Point and all his friends that would visit. Special mention to his best friends Johnny, Leora and Terry who Joe loved and adored. In keeping with Joe’s wishes of never being forgotten, please raise a glass of whiskey and repeat the same story several times. Sincere thanks to all of our family and friends over the past several years for your support and friendship. It meant a lot to Joe and his family. Much thanks also to the caring staff at the Brantford General Hospital on C4 and C7. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St., on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly St., on Friday, November 10th, 2017 at 11am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
