Peacefully on April 18, in her 79th year, with her beloved husband by her side, Kathy was called home to the Lord. She was the loving wife and best friend of Victor for over 55 years. Devoted and much-loved mother of Jeffrey and Maria (Nashville, Tennessee), Steven and Chandra (Brantford), and Victoria and Patrick Sheehan (Guelph). Cherished grandmother of Thomas, Owen, Caitlin, and Bennett. Pre-deceased by her parents, Claude and Dorothy Welsh, and her brothers John, Craig and Douglas. Kathy will be missed by her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Cheri Welsh, Sue Welsh, Ken and Josie Bickerton, Carmen and Darleen Portelli, Joseph and Dolores Torti, and her many nieces and nephews. Deepest thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Stedman Hospice for their dignified, compassionate care for Kathy. Visitation will be held at Thorpe Bros. Funeral Home, 96 West. St., Brantford, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 22nd, with a Rosary held for Kathy at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford, on Wednesday April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum, Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Foundation or St. Pius X Parish are gratefully appreciated by her family.
