

It is with profound sorrow that the family announces the passing of Kenneth Charles Batt, at the Brantford General Hospital on December 19th, 2013, in his 78th year. A native of Toronto, Ontario, he was the son of the late Charles A. Batt and Ivy (Timpson) Batt. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Hennie, brothers Doug and Ralph, and his sisters Evelyn and Patricia. Surviving to mourn her loss is his loving wife Micki, his beloved children, Debbie (Don) Geonette, Brenda (Leo) Raill, Cindy (Cliff) Fisher, Valerie (Ken) Curtis and Ken (Kathy) Batt Jr. He will be remembered with great affection by his step-children, Judy (Ron) Catherwood Kathy (Wayne) Comer and Peter Knowles. He was a doting Papa to Dusty, Danielle, Cristin, Patrick, Christopher, Katie, Tim, Mike, Nicole and Melanie and Gary. Cherished great-grandfather to Lucky, Zack, Connor, Angela, Brooke, Dylan, Oriah, Tayla and Ella. Very special friend of Blythe Shellington, plus numerous much loved nieces and nephews. At Ken’s request, there will be no formal visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel. Friends and family are invited to gather at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, l33 Murray Street, on Monday, December 23rd at 11am for the Celebration of Mass of Christian Burial with Father Mariusz Durbajlo officiating. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Assumption Mausoleum. Heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers in Palliative Care, CCAC, especially John Cousins and Jim Papp, and Nancy Tudhope for their excellent care and concern. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Poppy Public Trust Funds, under the stewardship of Lloyd Berkeley, Dunsdon Legion, Branch 46l.
