OBITUARY
Lucienne "Lou" Marie Young
24 September, 1947 – 20 March, 2021
It is with broken hearts we say goodbye to our loving Lucienne. ‘Lou’ was called to glory on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the age of 73. She is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. She leaves behind her dearly beloved husband, Al, her sister Theresa Wilson and brother Jean Cormier both of Hamilton as well as sisters and brother in New Brunswick. We are so thankful for the excellent care provided by her brother, Michel, who went far beyond the call of duty to help Al in this difficult time. She also leaves behind Al’s daughter, Tania, her brother in law, Gerry (Claire, her soulmate), Al’s sister Vickie Marchalowich, and many nieces and nephews. Married to the love of her life and best friend, Allan Young for fifty years. Lou and Al fully enjoyed their life together with all kinds of activities: trips, hunting, fishing and other outdoor adventures. After retiring as a teacher, Lou was very involved at St. Basil’s Church and was very dedicated to her community. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking, entertaining and going out with her besties. She was a very joyful soul who enjoyed giving rather than receiving and will be missed greatly by all her family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Manning for providing invaluable support during Lou’s illness. Also, very special thanks to Dr. Gladstone and CBI Home Health for the exceptional care, especially Irena for being such a compassionate caregiver. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Church (50 Palace St., Brantford) on Friday, March 26 at 10 a.m. For those planning to attend, please RSVP by phoning (519) 759-2211. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lucienne may be made to St. Basil’s Church or Juravinski Cancer Centre.

Lucienne (Mme Young to our now grown daughters) was a kindergarten teacher 'par excellence' and 'sans pareil'. If ever there was a woman divinely chosen to nurture and educate young children, it was Lucienne. She loved each and every one of her students, and parents felt blessed having Lucienne guide their children in their first school experiences. Our girls are in their 30s now, and Mme Young remains their favourite teacher.
What a beautiful difference Lucienne's life made to so many. We hold cherished memories of her in our hearts.
With deepest sympathy,
Diane, Marty, Kate and Natalie Quinlan

To Lucienne's Husband, Family & Friends - Lucienne was a lovely lady with an every ready smile. I only knew her casually and was getting to know her better at Coffee & Chatter at St. Basil and other CWL events. I marveled at her courage to come to mass when she felt well enough. To the dear brother that was with her - blessings for all your steadfastness to care for Lucienne. Lucienne will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. My condolences to her husband Al, and all of her dear family & friends. Louise

We have lost such a special lady in Lucienne, She was a dear friend, a devoted Catholic and willing volunteer at all of our St. Basil's functions, Along with Clare, she could always be depended upon to make all of our special events even more special with her gift of decorating. Despite her accident and following illness, she was always optimistic and never without a smile on her face. She will be missed. Sincere condolences to her husband and Clare and all the other members of her family. Another angel in heaven.
