Peacefully at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, Margaret McDonald at the age of 93 years; wife of the late John “Jay” McDonald; mother of five sons, Richard and his wife Nola, Douglas and his wife Beverley, Dale and his wife Cheryl, Daniel and his wife Ruth, and Donald and Linda; she will be sadly missed by her six grandchildren, Terri and her husband Wayne Barnett, Paul and his wife Emily, Derek, Allie, Kathleen and John and by her great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Wayne, Andrew, Will and Ella.
Margaret was a member of St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church and was involved in the Catholic Women’s League, as well as secretary/treasurer of the Catholic Parents and Teachers Association and for 20 years with the Brantford/Brant County Roman Catholic Separate School Board. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West Street, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace Street, on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10 AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
