Maria will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Maria was born in Caira (Cassino) Italy and immigrated to Northern Ontario as a young bride and mother to join her husband who was a gold miner. While living in Red Lake a second daughter was born. In the early 70’s the family moved to Brantford. Maria worked for Bell City Brands.
Maria was a beautiful lady who lived her life simply and most remembered by her generosity. She left us with great memories to learn from and live by and we will love her forever. Maria was an exceptional homemaker, gardener, story teller and always put her family first. Her faith in God and sense of humor kept her strong throughout her life. She was a member of the St Mary’s CWL. Maria treasured attending the audience with Pope John Paul 11 on her visit to Italy.
The family will receive friends at the THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME 96 West St Brantford from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Wednesday November 9, 2016. Prayer service and rosary will be on Wednesday at 8:30 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Brantford on Thursday November 10, 2016 at 10 o’clock. Entombment at Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum.
