

CARRIER; Sandra Joanne: Peacefully, after a short but courageous battle, on Sunday May 17th 2026 at the Brantford General Hospital, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Edward Carrier (2001). Loving mother of Lorrie (Glenn) Shoemaker, and Greg Carrier. Cherished grandmother of Austin (Meghan) Shoemaker, Connor (Abby) Shoemaker, and Lyndsay Shoemaker. Survived by sisters in law Lois Carrier, and Theresa Farmer. Predeceased by brothers in law Joe Carrier, Frank Stobbs, and Ken Farmer, and sister in law Marie Stobbs. Sandra will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family members. Sandra was well known to many through her years as a receptionist at CKPC Radio, where her warm personality and welcoming smile made a lasting impression on coworkers and visitors alike. She also spent many years working as a florist, sharing her creativity and love of beauty throughout Brant County. Over the years, she worked with Nichols Florist, Passmores Florist, Flowers by Gerry, and Ray’s Flowers in Brantford, as well as McCormacks Florist in Paris and Miles Flowers in Burford. Through every bouquet and arrangement, Sandra brought comfort, joy, and care to countless people. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and deep love for her family and community, but above all else, Sandra was devoted to her family. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and found great happiness in watching them grow, celebrating every milestone and treasured moment along the way. Her children will forever cherish the family gatherings she so lovingly brought together — occasions filled with laughter, warmth, conversation, and the unmistakable feeling of being home. Sandra will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her willingness to help anyone in need, and the kindness she extended so freely to others. Her presence touched many lives, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Family and Friends will be received at THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 96 West Street, Brantford, on Thursday, May 21st, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., with Parish Prayers held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly St., Brantford, on Friday May 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Interment Oakhill Cemetery, Brantford. As expressions of sympathy, donations made in memory of Sandra to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
