It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Paul after a long battle with kidney and heart disease. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Family meant everything to Terry, and he cherished every gathering and celebration. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sandy (Dancavitch), with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Terry was immensely proud of his three children and their spouses: Rob and Heidi Paul; Cindy and Gavin Miller; and Michelle and Joel Biro. He adored his grandchildren: Rachael (Peter), Jacob (Stefanie), Owen (Jade), Jeremy, Reed, and Jared.
Terry is also survived by his beloved sisters and their spouses: Cathy and Barry Eady, and Loraine and Larry Verplanke, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Betty and Dez Paul, and his in-laws, Mary and Bill Dancavitch.
Terry valued every job opportunity he had throughout his life, including his work as a Tool and Die Maker, Sales Representative for Paris Playground, and Educational Assistant with the BHNCDSB.
He enjoyed many hobbies, but collecting 45s and DJing with his son Rob were among his favourites. Terry also loved being part of the Ukrainian Village community, serving as the drummer for the Ukraina Dancers and volunteering wherever he was needed.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the BGH Dialysis team (especially Marie), the many PSWs (especially Chee), and the doctors (Dr. Krepinski, Dr. Maria, Dr. Boeknstein) and nurses who cared for Terry throughout his long and difficult journey.
The family will receive friends at Thorpe Bros. Funeral Home, on Thursday January 8th from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., with prayers held at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 9th at Sacred Heart Church, 17 Washington St., Paris. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris. As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Terry made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Dialysis Unit at Brantford General Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
