It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving father and grandfather on Monday, December 3rd, 2012. Dad has now joined his wife, Joyce, of 56 Years whom he has missed so dearly. Loving father of Tracey (Ron), Kelly (Kevin) and Kathy. Cherished grandfather of Joshua, Katie, Jarrod, Megan and Matthew. Survived by his brother Jim (Nina). Predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth; brothers William (Mary), Len (Jean), Maurice (Lorraine), Marty (Jean), Desmond (Mae); and sisters Sylvia and Rosaleen. Survived by brothers-in-law Ken and Butchie; sisters-in-law Maggie, Shirley, Jeannie, Dewy, Betty and Pat. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters in law. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Dad enjoyed a very long retirement following 35 years of service at Burtch Correctional Center. Many of these retirement years were spent on the ‘course’ with his golfing buddies.

The family would like to thank Dr Anne-Marie Connelly for her compassionate loving care and Yvonne McLaren for always being there when dad needed a “nurse”.

The Family will receive friends at the Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home, 96 West Street on Thursday, December 6th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Basil’s Church, 50 Palace St. Brantford.
