Walter Mech

Passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, March 9, 2011 at

the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Florence (nee Wdowczyk).

Loving father of Barbara Long and her husband Jim and Ann Mech.

Cherished Dzia Dzia to Andrew and Annika Long. Survived by his

brothers Ed (Thelma) and Robert (Jean) Mech. Walter will be dearly

missed by many relatives and friends. Pre-deceased by his parents

Thomas and Annie Mech, and brother Joseph. Walter was a lifelong

resident of Brantford, and an employee of Massey Ferguson Industries.

He enjoyed many rounds of golf as a member of Northridge Golf course.

He was a lifetime Member of both the Polish Mutual Benefit and

Friendly Society and of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. The family

will receive friends at “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” on

Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. C.W.L. rosary will be recited at 3 pm and

prayers will be at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St.

Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Avenue, on Saturday, March

10, 2011 at 10 am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
