Albert (Al) Clark Burrows Sr., aged 90, passed away on April3, 2024. Born on November 4, 1933, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Thomas Albert Burrows and Beatrice Clark. Al's journey through life was marked by dedication to his family, service to his nation, and a commitment to his community.
Al leaves behind his beloved spouse of 66 years, Marguerite Joy Burrow; his children, Thomas (Elaine) Burrows, Jay (Linda) Burrows, Albert (Tina) Burrows Jr., Kathleen (Craig) Bjorkheim, and Craig (Kelli) Burrows; and 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. His son Timothy Patrick Burrows and grandson Austin Clark Burrows proceeded him in death.
A proud veteran, Al served with honor in the United States Navy for 14 years. His post-military career was no less distinguished, as he ventured into the trucking industry with Peninsula Truck Lines in 1966 in Bremerton. He and his wife Joy moved from Kitsap County to Grays Harbor in 1978 when Al became the manager of Aberdeen's Peninsula Truck Lines until 1990. Al's expertise and leadership qualities were further exemplified through his roles at Columbia River Trucking, Hercules Trucking, and Pro Truck Lines, from which he retired to enjoy quieter days alongside his wife in Moses Lake. They returned to Montesano in 2015 to be closer to family.
Al, known for his outgoing personality and love of teasing, enjoyed golf, bowling, and laughter shared with friends. He imparted his wisdom and love for sports by coaching girls' fastpitch teams in Bremerton and Montesano. A leader of the Boy Scouts of America, he guided Troop 539 in Silverdale as Scoutmaster through the 1970's, shaping many young lives with his commitment.
The Burrows family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Pacific Care Facility in Hoquiam for the compassion and respect shown to Al. He was treated with the utmost care and dignity.
